Japan 2011
On March 11, 2011 a 9.0 magnitude earthquakes strikes offshore of Japan, northeast of Tokyo. This earthquake was the fourth largest ever recorded, and by far the largest recorded in Japan. This earthquake triggered a tsunami that produced waves up to 30 feet high, destroying everything on shore and damaging several nuclear reactors. The confirmed death toll of this tsunami was 15,884 people, making it one of the deadliest tsunamis in recorded history.
